We have almost identical problem, My 2012 SRT8 392 M6 is in dealership now, engine make some light knock noise, then I took it to the dealership, then I been told I need new cam and lifter, my car has 88k mile, and did oil change every 3500 miles, and this happen, luckily the warranty company finally covered this, or I need to pay $4000 to fix this, looks like these early model 392 do have some reliability issue?
It appears the 5.7 & 392/6.4 use the same lifters across the various applications (A5 / A8 / M6). I wonder if the the higher spring rate  might have some effect?
Since its the same parts in the 5.7s [different cam & springs vs. 392] , I'd expect to see some of these issues appear as well
