Maybe somebody spilled some hot sauce on it during assembly? That stuff does awful things to my pistons too.

Once ya get your new engine, don't let yourself be concerned about babying it to protect the poor pistons. As you know, they're made to take all the abuse you can throw at them. The way these SRTs run, it's more likely that the whole car might get cracked up than another piston

If it's possible, ask if you can see the piston. Maybe you could take a picture? We'd love to see what happened.

They'll probably swap it out but...YES, that would be great. Hard to see a piston just cracking without making contact with a valve or something weird. Yes, the odds of that are probably almost incalculable. hahaha.
Good luck, let us know.

I’m thinking the piston wrist on pins failed or crank bushing idk ,they’ been known to drop valves and break rocker arms stock

I most definitely will get pictures and make sure it’s a new engine as I’m sure the problem has to be in the crank or engine bottom..meaning if not swapped it will happen again

All the failures of this type that I have seen have been the result of a tune.

That is too bad Christian.

Is there an appeals process?

4000 miles is very low for a failure even if it had a tune.
Did you buy the car used or new?

Some people just gotta be different...
