Blinker stick not returning ok

My blinker/turn signal "stick" is acting up a little.

When using the turn signal, turning right, and then going straight again, the stick goes back, but instead of stopping in "neutral" position it goes over to left turn signal and I have to flip it back.

Any ideas if it is an easy fix?
Any ideas of just getting in behind the plastic to see the mechanic parts?

Have you checked the online chilton's manuals to see what is involved in replacing the switch?
