Creaking noise upon initial acceleration

I am hearing a creaking noise when I first accelerate from a stand still. It’s coming from the rear. There is no noise when I drive over bumps, no noise when you “bounce” or push down on the rear end, no noise during acceleration while driving. Any ideas on what this could be?

Hi Kilgore89,
We understand why this may be concerning. We suggest having your dealer look into this. You may also send us a private message if you would like any additional assistance while your vehicle is at the dealer.

Creaking suggests a bad bushing, a couple of things I could thing of looking at are:

1) Driveshaft coupling bushing
2) Differential carrier bushing
3) Trailing arm bushings
4) Rear sway arm bushings
5) Cradle bushings (might be the bolts are loose)

add "challenger forum z" where the *** are with no spaces
6) Control arm/trailing arm bushings
7) Exhaust hanger bushings
8) E-brake cabling rubbing or making contact with the chassis
9) (if equipped) Spare tire not secured down tight enough and moving/rubbing against chassis
