Question about the topic cylinder deactivation

I'm the owner of a 2010, Dodge Challenger SRT8.
Does the 2010 SRT has a cylinder deactivation, like the newer SRT's?

No. That's why you only get a maximum of 18-19 mpg on the highway.

Okay. Thanks for the quick response.
How many MPG does the new SRT8 get?
Is there a big difference?

I just got back from a 1993 (s)mile road trip to the Rockies in my Scat Pack 392 with the A8.........25.4 mpg for the entire trip.

This was with "Sport Mode" engaged full time, so MDS was not "activated". Probably would have got 1 to 1.5 mpg better with it, but I don't like the MDS sound when activated, or the slight vibrations of the 4 cylinder mode.

MDS is good for about 4 mpg, at 72 mph in MDS mine will show 30 current mpg.

I averaged 27 mpg on my trip this weekend. That was driving up mountains and back down doing 75 most of the way. Pretty amazed at the mileage I am getting with only 1000 miles on the car. That was not in Eco mode either and I have an A8.

As I understand it, NO 6L + Dodge engine has MDS. I have heard, and this makes sense, the logic circuit that works the MDS oil solenoid in the 5.7 is the same one that works the runners variable length butterfly valves on the 6L + high performance engines.

6.4L engines with A8 have MDS, Hellcat does not.
