Questions from a new SRT owner

Just purchased a 2018 SRT, 6 speed. I've only put a few miles on it and I won't have my manuals for a couple days. Got a couple questions:

1. What gear ratio do I have?
2. Transmission gear ratios?
3. Is there no need for a skip shift eliminator? I needed on on my 2010 R/T, but in 100 miles or so on this car there doesn't appear to be a need for one. Has something changed since the 2010 model year?

Thanks.

Tim

I have an A8 but all my manual buds rave about switching to a Barton shifter.

Mine is a 2015, so things may have changed.

1. Rear gears are 3.91
2. ?
3. I installed a skip shift eliminator and I suspect you will need to as well.

Good luck with the car and have fun.

1. 3.90
2. 2.97, 2.10, 1.46, 1.00, .74, .50
3. In Sport or Track Mode, skip-shift automatically disabled on 2017-up. . So just depends on what mode you normally drive in if you need it.

The rear axle used to be Getrag and was 3.91 (or 3.92 as Dodge called it) or a 3.73 with 18-inch wheels, from 2015-up it's a ZF and all are 3.90 except Hellcat (3.70).

The transmission ratios are the same since your 2010.

I guess if you don't drive in Sport a lot you might still need the skip-shift, but I'd see how it does without it.

Congrats.

Again, I don't have my manuals yet so I can't get up to speed on some of these changes. Not wanting to sound too ignorant, but I thought a sport mode option was just for the A-8 cars.

You can download from dodge.com or call customer service 1-800-423-6343 to order the hard copies.

Sport and Track change the suspension and steering on SRT, also sets up a different stability and traction program. Lots to read!
