Hood Pins for the SXT

Hi Friends, would like to ask if there is a real need to install hood pins on an SXT.
Would someone who drivers relatively tamely need to install them?

No one needs them Someone with an aftermarket lightweight hood would need hood pins, but otherwise they are a cosmetic option. The do the job of hood pins too, but not needed,

Lick 'em and stick 'em. Put on the fake ones for a cool retro look.

I was going to put them on my R/T just because, but then I realized what a pain, you have to get out of the car, pull the pins then go back to the driver's side to pop the hood. If I was running a fiberglass hood I would probably install 4 of them and make my hood a "Lift Off" but then just because of the size of the hood, it would be a 2 person job to remove the hood. Or if I could do a retro mod of a hood release in the front grille.

A Guy is right. not ever needed, hellcats are running 190+mph at the tracks with the same hood latch that is on every other challenger and outside of some very minor underhood lift in the middle at those speeds, the stock latch holds fine. they are for cosmetic / old school look.
i was also going to do them until i realized the bs involved and complaints about cable rub.
cheap fake stick on ones though.. umm, no thanks.

I went with the fake ones...I think they look pretty good. To each his own. I got the lanyards to go with mine and really like the look.

Fake ones or drill a hole, either way they look great! I've had both, no issue with the lanyards rubbing. I plan on putting them on my Scat Pack when I put on my Shaker. Go for it!

Yeah rubbing is not an issue at all. Although I did put some 3M clear film over mine where the lanyards lay over the front bumper cover just for good measure.
