Isn't that annoying?!?! It has happened to all of us at one time or another... No matter how diligent you are in checking the weather, sometimes mother nature doesn't listen to the weather forecast! ;-)

Thanks, I just blow dried it with my Stihl leaf blower, the water came right off. Hope it stays that way, going to put McKees tire gloss on it now. Maybe the rain will stay away. LOL
I'm a glutten for punishment I guess.
LOL, I hear you but I can't I don't have a garage. I have 1 million square feet of land but no garage. 1 day I hope to have one 40x60 I'm wishing for it. Just got the McKees tire gel on it no rain so far. Looks awsome for now!!!
This happens about 8 out of 10 time. Garage or not, rain would be in the forecast within 2 weeks. Not real rain, more like sprinkles to mess it up, where it's not dirty enough to wash again, but mess up the shine.
I know it is a losing battle especially since I drive it over 100 miles a day. It has about 10 coats of Mequiars Ultimate Fast Finish and 3 or 4 coats of Mequiars Ultimate Fast wax over that. The bugs come right off!!! I really don't know what else to put on it. Thursday I have a gallon of Bead Maker coming UPS. The Fast Finish is good but I'm about out of it so ordered the Bead Maker to try it. I wash my car once a week or more. I use a Car Pro Sheep Wool Mit and then blow dry it. No swirls yet after about 75 wash jobs. Love this Challenger and hope to build a big shop to park it in 1 day. Dang it now it raining again while I'm writing this. LOL I just can't win.
Thanks for the sympathy. I'm positive by the time I drive 50 miles to work in the morning it will be covered in bugs, so my life goes living to see my car clean. I love seeing it spotless so I just sit on the porch and stair at it knowing in a short few hours the bugs will attack it on my drive to work. Nice smooth ride getting there though so not all is lost to those pesky bugs!!!
Thank the Lord above for the nice paint coatings we have today that help make life easier on people like myself. Country life in a Challenger!!! Got to love it!
It's akin to doing a rain dance. I washed mine Friday even though I knew it would get rained on Saturday and Sunday. At least it was clean when it got rained on

I know the feeling all to well.
I hate to see it dirty so I keep cleaning it over and over and over again. With all my driving I have to clay bar it about every 3 months then another coat of sealant. Been using the Pinnacle Ultra Fine clay bay then Ultimate Fast Finish and Ultimate Fast Wax as maintenance coats which is super slick stuff. I'm hoping this gallon of Bead Maker is even better as far as durability/longevity and slick as snaut like I keep hearing. Either way I'll keep it clean and shiny as I can swirl free with no touch drying with my big leaf blower. I drive it on to these 2x4s to get it off the grass so tire cleaning is easier. I'm to OCD with this car, but I just can't help myself. LOL
Here's last weeks cleaning in between rains.
There is one plus. An overcast day, with a lot of clouds, is a great day to wash and wax a car. Ideally, the surface temperature of the exterior should be cool.
^^Good point! I've learned to wait until late afternoon/early evening to wash my car - otherwise, the sun is usually beating down on it. With the way the sun hits my "car wash spot", there is a few-hour window where the garage blocks the sun - and I now try to wash my car during that period.
Car wash is the Car Guy's rain dance. If we add clay and work on the trim, and random thunderstorm will be on it's way. If we need to solve a water shortage (in CA) everyone should wash their cars. Not just wash, but wax, detail, polish, chrome, wheels, and the tires too.
I know I'm a glutten for punishment. Ok that happened to my Challenger the other day.
So yesterday I spent 5 hrs washing and cleaning my big Ram 3500 4x4 dually. Cleaning the beast is a big under taking. It was 94 degrees I had a good shady spot and 15 minutes after I was done it rained lightly just enough to really want to make you scream! If you have ever detailed a Ram 3500 4x4 dually you will want to scream if this happens. The paint on a Ram dually is just as nice as the paint on my Challenger. Good thing my truck is white so it doesn't show things quit as bad. I was going to give it a coat of Bead Maker, but since it got wet hell with it. LOL
You see that 43' 5th Wheel in the back ground, he's next on the list to clean. It is like washing 6 duallys at once! I do like my FCA products!!!
My pet peeve is, I'm waxing the car, and suddenly Mother Nature turns on the misters. There is nothing worse than trying to get wax off of a car that has just gotten some water applied on top of the wax. :umbrella:
I have to ask totally off subject. On taps talk when u pull this thread up there shows a picture of a 8 rib magnuson api belt system that I want to know about. Who’s is this anyone know?
