Another Borla Atak question

I am looking at the Atak system and they have 2 versions of the kit.
One of them has actual valves like the stock exhaust and the other has simulators, other than the $400 difference in price what changes will the valves make? Will the system be more mellow at lower rpm and cruise? Is the valve version ment for auto instead of M6?

The AEV version uses the valves just like stock. They open and close and position themselves based on settings and conditions. The simulators just keep the system thinking the valves are still connected so you don't throw a code. The exhaust will be wide open all the time. A Guy

Thanks for the reply. I guess what I am really trying to find out is how much that will change the tone. I know how the valves work on the stock system and that they do change things some between normal and sport more and are fully open in track mode.
Having the Atak system but not having it set on "kill" all the time might be nice.

If I get a chance I will call Borla Monday to get their answer as well.

Be aware, they still think they are "MDS Valves", lol. It looks like you transfer the stock actuators

https://www.borla.com/140646.pdf

Since wide open would be kill, then any other position of the valves other than full open would change the total sound. It would have to change the tone some, but I think you'll still have the different tone at the same lever of open compared to stock.

A Guy

Thanks for the info. I think the thread helped some.

I called Borla but after listen to the tech try and tell me how he thinks the valves work I may have lost some IQ points and a little respect for the company.

So as not to confuse others I am not going to post the information they gave me.

By any chance just random question do you know if the flowmaster outlaw exhaust system from 2015-17 For SRT/392 will fit a 2017 5.7?
They don’t make the outlaw exhaust for the 2017 5.7 anymore

I'm going to say no based on all previous years having different part#s. Not sure why they don't make the Outlaw for the 345, the 392 version has AEV, so not like they can't do it?

I would say no but mostly because your car has 2.5" exhaust vs the 2.75" on the 392.
The Flowmaster is all 3" stepped up from the 2.75"
