This has been bashed about for years now, on this forum as well as many others and many/most times info put out there is just someones wet dream.
I believe that FCA has clearly stated they have no plans to resurrect the Cuda' name, regardless of the legal entanglements that were recently resolved over that particular plymouth name plate.
Perhaps, as the horsepower wars rage onward and with the Viper line in its death throws, they may change their position on it (??) or better still, we get a whole new performance platform altogether that will be as ground breaking as the Viper was in 1992 and the Hellcats were in 2015!

Considering the fact that one of the photos has the RAM logo and the 6.1 Alcoa's I would think that these are old photos. I thought it was mentioned a few times that there is a HUGE possibility that the 392 (dunno about the HC's though) will not be offered with the next generation Challengers due to CAFE standards.

I thought the general consensus was that the Hemi was going away after 2018 or 2019. I don't see how it could possibly survive in the face of the upcoming release fuel mileage requirements.

I don't care for either rendering.

I am sorry to say that I agree, these are nothing more than an artist's rendering. That being said, part of me wishes that they would build a faithful modern version of a Hemi Cuda, but I doubt that will happen.

On another note, I predicted on this forum a few years ago that automobiles will start to be self driving by 2020. Looks like in 2017 you can buy cars that virtually do that already. Mercedes and of course Tesla each have a car that can do most functions. The age of the automobile as we know is about to change dramatically in the next 10-15 years.

Sadly, I'm not optimistic that we'll see anything new. FCA seems to be full steam into sell-off/shut-down/merge mode.

If I was a dealer, I'd be ticked that I now have nothing to offer at all in the mid-size market with Dart/200's demise. No halo car in Viper. A Charger/300 that goes back to 2006 in its general styling outside of a few body panel tweaks. And a pony car that's more Clydesdale than thoroughbred.

I plan to buy a new car in 2017 and I have no idea what it will be. Probably not what possibly could become a Hyundai-owned Dodge.

Another Cuda prediction thread. LOL

No thanks. I'll get a 2019 Bronco before I ever flush my money on one of those.

The new lighter models will share a rear-wheel drive platform with the Alfa Romeo Giulia and will continue to offer a V6 and Hemi engines (including a 750 hp Hellcat). According to the article, "the plan is for Dodge to be the all-American, value-priced alternative to Alfa Romeo, which is targeting BMW. The cautionary note is that since "FCA has delayed the launch of the Alfa Giulia, the Challenger may be delayed as well. Also, looming are the 2025 Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards. With Jeep and RAM accounting for 62% of FCA's U.S. sales, Marchionne might have some hard product decisions ahead."

The power-to-weight of these lighter cars should be a big performance advantage.

If these are how the 2019s will look, are you happy?
I would not worry about these photos...odds are the final car wont even look close to what they show.
Regardless...."Retro" NEVER goes out of style...they can release a non retro version all they want...and the Challenger (2007+) just like the Mustang (2005-2008), both retro versions will always look better than any new fangled styles they release.

I will always take a retro design over a non-retro design in a heartbeat.
Just ask any former Camaro owner including myself...we are starved for retro..the initial design was ok....then an attempt was made for an increased retro look with the taillights and some other areas ....better..and now with the new 2016.....blah yuck no retro.
Just as they say Mopar or no car...I say Retro or go home!
