I would have liked to have seen a lighter and smaller bodied Challenger. But Dodge did a fantastic job bringing the retro-styled Challenger to market and we are lucky to have it. We tend to forget how enthusiastic all of the car magazines and web sites were about the car. Look at this impressive list of awards that the car earned:

Wait a minute, about a third of the companies listed, when something negative is stated about FCA or its vehicles, have been accused on the forum of being in collusion against the manufacturer. It can't be both ways.

Better pictures if anyone cares. Personally, the Cuda just looks like a smaller Challenger. I have never understood why you'd want to convert a Challenger to a Cuda because the body lines arent the same. But it looks like Dodge doesn't mind doing that either. As far as the Challenger goes, im pretty OK with everything except the disgusting lower front fascia. Looks like something from a Ford Fusion. Just my 2 cents, please nobody freak out.

those are certainly not FCA renderings.

One was simply chopping the existing body shorter and making a convertible - and the proportions are off.
-its almost akin to the "roadsters" that were made out of the mid-70s Caddy Seville 4 doors. Very odd looking.

That white car - really distorted proportions - whole thing is stretched, then the upper 1/3 cut to make it look less tall and it doesn't work either.

As these both are using mostly pre '15 elements makes these seem even less relevant.

The article contains photos of the new 2019 Challenger and a 'Cuda convertible! See below.

The new lighter models will share a rear-wheel drive platform with the Alfa Romeo Giulia and will continue to offer a V6 and Hemi engines (including a 750 hp Hellcat). According to the article, "the plan is for Dodge to be the all-American, value-priced alternative to Alfa Romeo, which is targeting BMW. The cautionary note is that since "FCA has delayed the launch of the Alfa Giulia, the Challenger may be delayed as well. Also, looming are the 2025 Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards. With Jeep and RAM accounting for 62% of FCA's U.S. sales, Marchionne might have some hard product decisions ahead."

The power-to-weight of these lighter cars should be a big performance advantage.

If these are how the 2019s will look, are you happy?
Love the look of the Cuda, but that Challenger rendering? Looks awful to me, I'll get something between 2015 and 2018. I don't care if it's lighter/faster. The roof line is far too low, the rest of the body looks disproportionate, I think the front looks terrible as well. It's almost as if they tried to do a modern version of a cross between the 1978 Challenger Diamante concept and one of the modern LC platform Challengers.

OK, I didn't read through all of this, but here's my predictions.

SXT will become a turbo 4, offering milage in the mid 30's. R/T will be twin turbo V6, with 400 + HP. SRT's will let still be available, but they will be one of xxxx. Most of which will be Hellcats. I just don't see them killing the car.

In my 5 mile commute, I see 10-15 a day, and not the same ones. Vast majority are SXT's but whatever. People are keeping the brand alive.

16 SRT 392 A8 Go Mango.
Fully loaded.......the car, I swear I mean the car

I know these are fake but I wouldn't mind a convertible.

I did not read through it all. I am glad people see these are fake. If someone did not point it out, why would the fuel filler on one of them be on the passenger's side and on the other one it is on the driver's side. Are they really going to make 2 different gas tanks, fuel filler necks and fuel doors for cars sharing the same platform?
