Do you think that it will not be fine when I get it? What do you know that I don't know that I should know? Do the Challengers have quality problems from manufacturing?
It's not that I think it won't be fine, but there are - unfortunately - a number of things that can go wrong. And it would be naive to think that it can't happen to your car, as much as I hope it doesn't.
The paint issues you were worried about due to the shutdown wouldn't concern me in the least, but there was one car that came with such poor paint fixes that the buyer ended up ordering a new one. It all worked out for the better, but did take time.
Salt spray, and consequent corrosion, from transport shouldn't be an issue for you at all. Not this time of year.
I've already pointed out that our '19 took over four months to make it to the dealer, from after it was built.
. And when it finally arrived it was damaged.
Again, I'm not saying that anything bad will happen to your car, but please realize that it can.
Be realistic, especially about the arrival time of your car. You may want to forget that you ever heard about FCA chat, for example. Unless you like getting your hopes up (and down) based on sketchy info at best, just relax.
Call the dealer for more accurate updates, maybe once a week. Worst case, there are things like Valium to help you make it between the calls.
