Aero limits them to about 200mph, just too much drag.

If memory serves me, the Hellcat is supposedly good for 199 mph, and the Redeye for 203.
That's impressive, considering the aerodynamics of a Challenger.

Yeah that’s the truth. I was thinking more ZL1/Mclaren etc cats made for top end speed. That’s still insanely fast.

Same here. 126 out in a desert canyon on a two lane road. Also slowed down when I saw headlights coming.

Sort of. The SXT had V rated tires (149 mph) so the 135 might be for the base touring (soft) suspension but you could order Super Track Pack which gave you Y rated 186 mph tires yet no adjustment was made.

Same thing with R/T although not sure why it has a 155 mph governed speed when the standard tires are V rated, but again STP was available with the Y rating.

The 186 mph Scat Pack limit makes sense as the same STP Y rated tires were standard.

The SRT and Hellcat cars came with (Y) rated tires which is 186+ mph so they are fine.

Demon and Scat Pack 1320 cars have W rated drag radials so they are limited to 168 mph.

You took what off wiki? He was asking if the PCM speed limit is related to tire rating. I think my stock firestones had a "V" speed rating which is 149MPH...the limit on the PCM was 155MPH. Like I said, it's the brakes that will have you more worried than the tire speed rating...at least on the RT.

The HC limit is 254MPH which is higher than the tire speed rating.

SRT and Hellcat tires are (Y) rated which is above 186 mph. They don't give it an exact number but a (Y) is good for higher speeds than a Y tire which has a 186 mph limit.

Think hes talking about the governor set on the vehicles. Car will cut off at xxx speed

But it's also good to get a good speed rating tire especially if you like to drive fast

What each engine was good for. Just realized it was the charger not the Challenger but they should be pretty close to the same.

254 MPH? Is that the speed limiter? Because there’s no way in hell a hellcat is even close to that, it’s like barely 200. There’s like 4 cars in the world that can go 250 and they’re Bugatti’s and Hennessey’.

I was just addressing the statement that Hellcat tires had a 186 mph rating, they don't. They are rated at above 186 mph.
