Is it true that the shaker package option is non-functional?

Is it just an appearance package? The shaker scoop does not function as ram air?
Which option or Challenger model comes with the daytime running light that is functional as an air intake?

Scat Pack Challenger Wide Body or does this intake running light start from the Hellcat model?

Shaker is functional, it adds a second opening to the cold air intake.

So then the headlight air intake only comes as standard equipment in the Hellcat Challenger and Redeye?
Is it true then you must remove shaker to do oil change or check oil level?

you must remove the Shaker scoop top half by removing 4 10mm nuts to add oil as the oil filler is under the scoop. The oil level is checked with a dip stick like every Challenger.

The Shaker is functional, it catches air and ports it to the air box. The top portion of the Shaker needs to be removed to add oil. As others noted, it is attached with 4 nuts and is quickly removed. A small price to pay if one likes the Shaker. I have added the MOPAR cold air inlet as well, it also ports air from the inboard light to the air box.

As for ram air, these cars are NA, neither the Shaker or MOPAR cold air inlet will pressurize the intake system, they merely insure there is enough air available in the air box for the engine to suck in even though the big old hole in the bottom of the air box already accomplishes that. Maybe that is what folks are referring to when they say the Shaker is non functional. IMO the advantage of the Shaker and the MOPAR cold air inlet are their ability to reduce IAT. The MOPAR cold air inlet works well to reduce IAT quickly when the car starts moving after being stopped and idling.

While there isn't really a performance benefit to the Shaker package, it sure does look awesome!

My 2015 is one of the first to come to my state and I absolutely love it, I wanted to get a Shaker model but I would have had to wait over a year for it and didn't want to.

The regular factory air box on the 392 is a great unit, flows all the air the engine needs, at least when the air filter is clean anyway. If anything, put the Hellcat air filter in the 392 airbox, it flows insanely well when clean and still meets the WOT requirements of the 392 even when dirty.
