Mustang to Get Bigger to match Challenger?

This article says Mustang to go to Explorer platform (CD6) for 2026. Interesting that they would make it bigger when the argument has always been that the Challenger is fat.

That's still a looong way in the future. Anything could happen by then.

The economics of sharing a platform are powerful motivators. There is certainly a business case to justify this.

Trust me, Chevy and Ford have taken notice of strong Challenger sales....But yes...that is a long way off...

While I've never owned one, I love the Mustang styling and the factory 5.0 is impressive. However there's a few reasons why I've owned three Challengers. One of which is the interior size. I don't have back seat passengers very often, but it's nice to have the option. Also, sitting in the Mustang just feels a little cramped. I could overlook this, but the back seat is important to me.

The other thing about the Mustang is stepping over the foot wide door sill to get into the car. It must be due to the narrow greenhouse, but its uncomfortable.

Hmmm a bigger Mustang. Just means more crap per volume per car than now.
