Texas Outlaw Challengers Cruise Sept. 4

OK all of you Challenger drivers everywhere across this great state of ours, it's time to "line 'em up" again. TOC will be hosting another of their World Famous Cruises on Sunday morning September 4th. We'll be gathering in New Braunfels (Schlitterbahn, world class tubing, etc.) at 9:00 am for a 150 mile looping cruise through the Hill Country. Starting point will be Buc-ees on I-35 and FM 306 on the north side of town. We'll publish the route details and other things you'll need to know as the weeks get closer. The main thing now is to set aside that date. Since it's the Labor Day weekend, most folks don't have to work the day before or the day after.
Mark your calendars!

Here's some more basic information on the upcoming Sept. 4th cruise...

What:
This is another in the World Famous Cruise Series in
association with the Texas Outlaw Challengers Unclub.
This is NOT a race or Rally.

When:
Sunday September 4, 2016. Drivers meeting at 8:45 am.
Cruise begins at 9:00 am sharp. Come early.

Where:
We'll meet up in the massive Buc-ees parking lot on I-35 and FM 306
on the north side of New Braunfels.

How to participate:
Just show up! No sign-up sheets, no reservations needed.
We’ll run rain or shine with whomever shows up. Be there or be square.

What to bring:
The usual stuff you would carry for a long drive, especially
sunglasses and money for lunch. The lead and trailing cars
will be in contact by FRS radio, so if you have one, be sure
to bring it and help us stay organized.

Are there rest stops?:
Yes. We will be stopping about every hour for 10-15 minutes.
There will be clean rest rooms and gas/supplies at each stop.
Lunch will be back in New Braunfels at Willies.

Let's Drive!

Wish is wasn't 576 miles from El Past to New Brunfels. And that's only halfway thru Texas. Damn this is a big ass state

In my back yard!!! We hittin the Twisted Sisters??? PM me if you need help on the routes. I know the hill country very well from my sportbike riding days and been to the Sisters over 20 times on my bike a few times in my 370Z when I had it.

Road 16 is epic from Kerrville to Bandera but not sure if our heavy cars would do well on that route. Hairpin, off camber, and a flat out curve heaven.

2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat A8
Bwoody CAI, JLT catch can, 285 Metco pulley with H/D Green belt, Demon 800cc injectors, HHP PCM/TCM tune, 3.09 diff, JBA catless mids, per4mance development diff brace, M/T ET Street SS 305/20 on Bravada 20X10.5 wheels.
Best time

Unfortunately the Twisted Sisters is not on our route this time. It's just too far out from New Braunfels for a day trip. We have done it in the past but we started in Kerrville. Perhaps you could pick a date and sponsor our group sometime. We're always looking for people who know great roads.

I have put the word out and there will be a few more Mopars out there for the drive.
Can you post up the route?

I will be finalizing the route later this week. I need to run it myself first and determine where the rest stops need to be among other things.

Glad to hear you're getting the word out. As much as we like Chargers, Magnums, Ram Trucks, etc., this cruise is for Challengers only. If we opened it up to all Mopars, we'd have too many vehicles to manage and it wouldn't be fun. It's all about having fun!

I've pre-run the entire route of this Sunday's cruise and it's 158 miles long. The first segment will be just over an hour drive and our slowest one. Segment two will be the longest (1:20) and also the fastest. Segment three will only be 45 minutes to get us back to New Braunfels. The weather is supposed to be hot and dry with only a 20% chance of rain. But just a heads-up...they have had a lot of rain out there in the last few weeks and the rivers are full. We will need to cross some low water crossings but it's not deep. Since this isn't a "show-and-shine" don't feel your car needs to be spotless that morning. It sure won't be by the time we return!

Sounds great. I arrive home from Germany on the 3rd. If jet-lag hadn't set in by the next morning then count on me sliding in at the back of the line. I have to see how long it'll take to get from Cypress in Harris County to the big ol' Bucees on I-35. I'll make sure to get to sleep early Saturday evening to make it out for this.

I live in Katy and it takes me 2 hours and 15 minutes taking I-10 to Route 46 in Seguin then straight in to New Braunfels. Use the new TX 99 (Grand Parkway) from Cypress and it will help.

Hope to see you there!
