That's sad. The people who owned it should have just sold it instead of doing what they are doing. I wonder if NHRA made them an offer for it?

I was there once for an all Mopar car show/ swap meet kind of thing. This was maybe 2009. It was a beautiful race track. Definitely a first class track. I was a little disappointed by the turn out, but someone told me the show in Carlisle, Pa. was killing this one. It's sad to see this.

I lived 10 minutes away a few years ago. Hearing the roar of the engines while going to the bank, grocery store, post office will be missed.

I ran my 16' Camaro there about 2 years ago a few nights. They closed about a year ago left many with no where else to go. If you do motocross your in luck or road course school, car shows and burnouts LOL. Really been a bad thing for us north east people in NYC areas and beyond as there is nothing else close but possibly Atco which is a 3 hours drive.

Sad to hear. Even I’ve heard of Englishtown out hear on the west coast of Canada. Read about it in my Mopar mags as a teen. Funny they mention rising cost of fuel as one reason people don’t race. I wonder if the electric car crowd will get into racing. As goes Englishtown, so goes the ICE. I’m dumping my current funds into a 1970 GTX 440 4V. Hope when I’m done a few tracks are still left.

Let's not forget that the drag strip closed last year and the facility is still doing business. Web site Raceway Park They have a swap meet and car show Friday to Sunday, April 12 to 14, 2019, motocross, karting, drifting, and road course events. They have road course schools and open track days each month.

Good point Steven, yes only the drag strip has closed. 480 acres, wow can you imagine the tax bill on that? So hopefully the other events and concert venue plans will allow them to remain in business for years to come.
