Anyway, in answer to your questions:
1) It has a more noticable audio profile, but calling it "louder" is a little too much. It is more noticable and sounds much better is the only way I can really describe it. It won't annoy any neighbors.
2) Hard to remember, but I believe it was something like 1K miles before it really started to sound good. It was probably 500 miles before I could stand the sound myself, and another 500 miles before it started to sound okay. Then after about 1500 miles, it really started to come into its own, and I started to develop a perma-grin on my face everywhere I drove.
