  1. Money talks

    General Challenger Discussion
If you're 100% sure you will be happy with the SXT, then go for it. If you see yourself saying "damn...I should have waited a bit longer and gotten the v8" then wait it out. I will be one of the rare few that will be transitioning from v8 to v6 as the only time I ever use the power is passing...
  2. If You Buy A Car From A Dealer, Check Your Tires

    General Challenger Discussion
this^ mine was 42psi all around. immediately lowered it as I was toggling through the screen setup
  3. $633 tax in on 2019 Challenger Scatpack. Good price or too high?

    General Challenger Discussion
there is absolutely nothing wrong with leasing a vehicle. if it's based on the OP's perspective then yes, leasing would be bad idea.
  4. $633 tax in on 2019 Challenger Scatpack. Good price or too high?

    General Challenger Discussion
At that rate/term I would just finance. Brand new 2019 scats (no added options) can be had as low as 36k here in California. After taxes/fee/doc: were probably at 41k OTD, and that's before negotiating. The deal you laid out is supreme rip off. OP, I suggest holding off on the scat and finish...
  5. Unknown noise coming from engine bay

    General Challenger Discussion
oh wow, it happened to a v6 owner too.. I'm gonna try walking into a service dept of FCA and show them the video and see if anyone ran across this particular issue. thanks for the replies all!
  6. Unknown noise coming from engine bay

    General Challenger Discussion
Link to video: 2018 Dodge Challenger 5.7L TA Mileage: 17,xxx No modifications All fluids ok, no leaks, maintenance done per owners manual spec I was washing my car and heard this noise coming from the engine bay. It's more prodomindant toward the driver side of the engine bay. After starting...
  7. Why are there so many used challengers?

    General Challenger Discussion
Mine is leased and I can imagine many others are as well. I leased my Challenger as a toy car. It's not practical to me long term so I didn't finance. I'm glad I leased mine as the paint on my Challenger is poor (a tiny rock was able to chip off the paint but not leave a dent in the body), the...
  8. how is the challenger on gas?

    General Challenger Discussion
My 5.7L averages 17mpg. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and its traffic everywhere. I'm 50% city/50% highway too. I have a short commute to work so I opted for the v8. If my work commute was 40min or longer, I would've gotten a loaded v6. The best MPG I ever gotten was 24mpg on a whole tank...
  9. Mid Muffler Delete

    Intake & Exhaust
Mine is an 2018 5.7L. Did mid muffler delete and kept the OEM resonators. it gets too raspy at 4700k rpm and above. Anything below that sounds lovely. Cold starts are very loud if you go to work in the morning hours (neighbors may hate you).
  10. Buying a Used Challenger - Advice on Year/Trims/Options

    General Challenger Discussion
that is correct. my owners manual for an 18' 5.7L says the A8 can even use 87 octane but 89 is recommended. For M6, it requires 91 octane. just want to add with the 6.4L, you'll have to change the oil/filter every 6 months or 5000 (could be 4000? but maybe someone can confirm) miles, whichever...
  11. NextGen Challenger May get electric boost

    General Challenger Discussion
add electric motor to operate front wheels on SXT/GT = boom, AWD hybrid v6 :)
  12. car lease: tires

    General Challenger Discussion
Thanks for the info fellas. I called to confirm and was told it must be same size, same manufacturer (in my case, Goodyear brand) and allowed tread wear.
  13. car lease: tires

    General Challenger Discussion
My Challenger is leased thru Ally Financial Bank. There is no specific information about tires other than thread life upon returning the car. Factory tires are Goodyear Eagle RSA2's all season. When returning a lease vehicle, do the tires 1) have to be the same brand?, 2) have to be all season...
  14. RT exhaust

    General Challenger Discussion
2018 5.7L (with the AES). I did the mid muffler delete and its very loud at cold start and above 4k rpm. I dislike the raspy tone when its near redline. If I could do it at the time, I would've put mini race bullets to mellow out the cold starts and redline raspyness.
  15. Price Check - 16 SXT Plus Challenger

2015 to Current SXT & SXT Plus
when I was shopping end of 2017, the 2017 SXT plus models with all the options (black top, driver group, navi, sound system, sunroof) were in the mid-high 20's depending what options it had. the bare bone 17' SXT Plus were 26k the cheapest I've seen. as mentioned its a buyers market BUT the SXT...
  16. Pictures of RED Challengers

    General Challenger Discussion
I saw all 3 when I picked up my challenger at the dealership as I was debating the same 3 color choices. The octane red looked more maroon with a vibrant pearl coat to it. It looks a bit "dull" during overcast but in sunlight its absolutely gorgeous. I would say the redline tri-coat is the...
  17. Installing a T/A hood on my 2014 RT

    General Challenger Discussion
isn't that the shaker hood? edit: nevermind, realize theirs more than 1 style TA hood!
  18. R/T vs R/T Scat Pack Exhaust Note

    Intake & Exhaust
off topic from the original post but just wanna chime in as I came from an 2012 Civic Si to a 2018 5.7L TA (same as R/T basically). I buy 1 car at a time and the 5.7L was well more than enough power. Sure the 6.4L would've been great but not realistic as a daily driver with its more demanding...
  19. Purchase price of new Challenger 392

    Dealer Experience
I am very guilty of this. However I only have 1 slight regret and that is not waiting 2 more months because they finally listed their fully loaded torred TA on sale with a $4k post Christmas dealer discount. Oh well...I still love my redline red TA eventhough it doesn't have the HIDs and navi lol :)
  20. Purchase price of new Challenger 392

    Dealer Experience
I think you got a solid deal IMO. My local dealer had a 2017 loaded scat in the low 40k range and that's before tax/fee/etc.
