I know there is a lot of excitement and buzz going on with the new 2015 Challengers now that the pricing has been released and the prices are quite reasonable. That being said, many of us with myself included, recently bought our Challengers within the last year and won't or can't afford to upgrade. For people that fall into that category, what upgrades are you planning to keep your car fresh and exciting to you? For me, it's going to be a factory shaker setup, shorty headers, and some new wheels (perhaps a set of 2015 models). As my car sits right now, I've added American Thunder cat back exhaust, RT Classic stripes, and 20% window tint.

For you "car porn" fans I've included a couple of pics of my cars including my '66 Mustang GT (don't hate me, it's my high school ride) while we were packing up for our move from Charlotte to Jacksonville.

Yes, that GT and a Challenger are a very nice pair to own. Both great lookers.

No real plans on changing anything on my '10. That said, when the front end gets damaged, at least I might have choices of what "nose" to replace the original with.

Hope it doesn't happen, but if it does, I'll have something to consider.

I'm perfectly happy with my little, old, R/TC :)

I JUST got my R/T (as in within the last 2 months), so I'm still cogitatin' on what mods I'll do. I've started small - functional hood scoop inserts and a locking gas cap are in the mail!

One thing I wish I'd gotten was the STP. The standard R/T suspension sits a little high, and though it's not as floaty as the standard SXT suspension, it could be tighter. SO, Stage 1 Mopar springs at some point.

I'd like to do something about the exhaust note, which as someone pointed out sounds like a sewing machine, but I want to keep it reasonable and avoid drone.

But I figure I have years to get to those!

Sounds like Mopar Stage One's and a Flowmaster Force II system are in your "future". LOL

It took me a few years before pulling the trigger on springs and a cat back system. I took my time, read all the latest, and old posts, and then just "did it". Happy as heck with both mods, and no drone on my A5 T/TC.

I bought my Challenger because I loved what I saw, and didn't worry, and still don't, what the newer models look like or have. It was a long term purchase, to mod and enjoy at a pace that I wanted.

Best of luck to you.

I really am hoping Dodge comes thru with the Scat Packs for the '14 cars, I know its expensive but I want to preserve my warranty.

If Dodge does fail to come up with the Scat Packs then my fall back pie in the sky plan is doing the following in the next few years once I get the majority of my loan paid down:

- Long tube headers w/hi-flo cats
- Solo X exhaust
- Stroker kit
- Matching cam to compliment the stroker build
- Ported heads with upgraded pushrods, rockers and associated hardware
- 6.1 intake or atleast a ported intake to help with bringing that air in along with applicable TB
- Bigger brakes
- Blue tops
- Torque converter upgrade

I have thought and researched this a lot and while I can prolly get similar gains with a SC I want to get as much power as I can using NA. Then later if I still need/want more power Ill be setup and ready for a SC.

If you break down what's included, the Stage 1 Scat Pack kit isn't expensive and you get an 18HP bump. I'd strongly consider that kit if I was interested in changing my existing cat back. Still waiting Dodge...

I have a '14 R/T. The HP for the base 2015 R/T is the same so I guess there isn't much catching up to do. I received a pretty good deal on my '14 last month as the 2015s were already announced. Thinking about it, the only thing I'll miss is the 8 speed transmission. I'm curious as to the MPG and acceleration impacts.

I'm also very focused on ensuring I keep my warranty since it's my daily driver... the Scat Pack 1 package interests me but I have to eventually land on if the 18hp increase and better sound is worth probably $3k (I'm adding in potential labor).

Long story short, alot to think about...

Funny you should mention the Flowmaster system, since I spent last evening googling and watching - and listening to - videos of that very system! It's between the Corsa Sport, the Solo X3, and the Flowmaster Force II, but since it will be a while before I pull together the scratch and the spousal acceptance, I have lots of time to think about it.

I spent last evening cruising around and enjoying my newly installed Flowmaster Force II's sound! LOL

Took the wife out, and she stated again, "What took you so long. Sounds like it should now". We both agree that the Force II has that nice low grumble at idle, and WOT is Hemi heaven to our ears.

That said, NO DRONE, which was a concern, but isn't an issue with this Flowmaster system. Everybody is happy in our family, as she's used to me "screwing cars up" LOL

Best of luck with your choice.

My wife was initially dismayed with my choice of a Challenger, but I stuck to my guns. Now she tells me "You done good!" I suspect she'll warm to whatever I choose to do to it...eventually.

The only thing that keeps me from going with lower springs is that you hit those parking curbs with your chin spoiler. The stock non- STP ride hight just clears them every time!

Yep, got to be careful indeed. That's the only downside of the Stage Ones, but one that I can live with. Just have to be aware, and learn how far to stay back......................................but there will "that" day, and I'll swear a little, and get it fixed! LOL

Any side view pics of your ride you can share? Would like to see how it sits.

I'm not really thinking of it as keeping up with the 15's so much as continuing my AAR mods but I've got Speedlogix's hellcat hood on order. I've got a set of chrome Mopar hood pins to go with the new hood. I'm planning to have the hood painted matte black. What I'm currently pondering is if I want to have a bit of a gloss black AAR styled pin stripe along the leading edges of the "AAR" scoop fading as they go back toward the windshield.

Next year I'm thinking about Mopar stage 1 springs, possibly a design cuts insert, and floor/trunk mat set. Once the warrenty is up and I have the title I'm thinking a whipple or centrifugal force SC would be in order.

Take it easy

Much like the others... I am happy with where I am in life with my Challenger... I have a few minor things here and there I still want to do, but they will not really change the outward appearance of the car that much... I can't say I have 15' envy at this point... I have done enough that I wouldn't want to start over anyway...

Which shaker did you go with? The one reason I've been holding out for a MOPAR set up is the light weight factory hood vs the fiberglass hoods out there.

Think of the up-nosing threads that would cause. :D
