This owner installed a GM LS engine, with a Pro-Charger, into this 1970 Challenger.

While it is super fast (runs in the mid-9s) and makes 879 hp., there is something very wrong about putting a Chevy engine in a classic Mopar.

I would never do that either. Just like I would never LS my LeMans. In a classic Chevy like a Malibu, certainly. But never in a Mopar, or in a Ford.

I would not go talk to that person (very much) and tell them what a great thing they did. I make a point to ignore those transplants whenever I come across one. Except for maybe LS swapped fox body Mustangs, that's kinda funny.

It's the easy way out...LS engines in all kinds of cars. Available cheap (relative), tons of speed parts, can make big boost and big power. Doesn't make it right...

and I agree, yes it is

I have a friend that put a turboed LS in a late model Challenger, he owns a CNC shop so he is easy to find. He regularly receives nasty emails and has actually received death threats because of it.
He has run drag week IIRC the car ran 8's also was around 1300 hp.

Getting death threats and nasty e-mails over doing something to your own car, that you paid for. That says something about the mental health problems in the world today. Really, guess it's nothing new, I remember getting spit on wearing a uniform walking through airports in the 70's. People are strange creatures.

it is funny because the guy that works for him did exactly the same thing with a Mustang and people love it. It had gotten so bad when he would go somewhere he finally built a Camaro and swapped the engine over. He is a racer not doesn't really care what brand.

It's just wrong in my book. Would have been so much cooler with a Hemi in it.
