Hello.

Was thinking about picking up a 2008 Challenger Srt8 with 73,000 Miles on it. Seller wants 22,000 for it. Car looks excellent runs great loaded with Z rims. Do you think its worth the price? Thanks

What are Z rims?
The 08's are special to many because they were the 1st year, but also less desirable to some because they used a different rear end (with no LSD.)

If you only have 22k & want an SRT8 then its a good deal. If it were my money I'd save a little more and find a lower miles 09+, but I think that price is very good.

I would ONLY get that car if it had an extended warranty that transfers to you. SRT's aren't common and the 08 for dang sure ain't common (only one that comes numbered, which dealers like that) but yeah..only if it has a warranty.

Didn't they make more 2008 SRT8 Challengers than any other year?

Seems like a lot for a 6 year old car. When I got my 2013, they had rebate deals on nice R/T's that got you down into the 20's. I dunno about you, but I'd rather have a new R/T than a 6 year old SRT.

Agreed. I wouldn't waste money on an 08 with 70k+ miles. Idc if it's an 6.1 SRT Hemi or not. I'd save a little more and find a newer R/T with less miles if I were you. That SRT could have been abused and you don't know it.

I got my 08 appraised today by two different dealers...though I'm not at 70k, just 55, and I am still under warranty. Compared to my trade in value, 22 is actually a little low, but then again the car might not be in "EXCELLENT" condition like mine, nor sport a warranty, biggest thing on the Challenger, is you WANT a warranty, or an extended

AGREED. I second B5 Blue Chally's comment (above.)

I think 2010 was tops with 10,156 SRT's built.

Dodge built 6,400 SRT8 Challengers in 2008.
6400 for USA/Mexico, 693 for Canada and another 116 Test/Pilot/Corporate cars, total for 2008 was 7,209.

Yeah..unless you get a car from Canada, then you will see the same plague I do, which is x out of 6400 - First Edition Challenger. I kinda doubt the Canada ones are numbered on the dash as first editions, but I could be wrong.

The 500 or so 2008 cars built for Canada were not really numbered 1 of 500. They did have a "500" in the grill where are cars said "SRT".

I bought a 2008 SRT8 in Hemi Orange with all options for 30K. This car had 200 actual miles with an extended warranty that transfered to me. I admit I got a heck of a deal. I would pass for a nicer car.

When I compare my 2008 SRT with my 2012 SRT, I should have just waited for the '11 and up enhancements, there are so many little things they did better on the newer cars.... I love this '12 SRT!!! (I still like my '08 car but I don't drive it much now)
