Hello Fello Mopar Mavens,

Was out last night with my new to me 2010 SRT.

Finally figured out how to turn off traction control completely (M6) so I was having a little fun.

Got home, left the car idling while I opened the garage door (haven't set up remote opening yet).

As I walked past the front of the car the cooling fans came on. I thought "great, the cooling fans work".

Pulled into the garage and shut down the engine. To my surprise the cooling fans shut off also.

Should they have not stayed on until the car cooled to a certain temp?

Is this something that can be changed with a tuner?

Car has a Maganson blower and obviously has been tuned with something as it runs great.

Any and all info appreciated.

Thanks for your time,

Varooom

fans running after shutdown will ill your battery.

If you want them to run afterwards, you can hardwire a switch Pretty easy.

just leave your hood open if your worried.

Btw fans don't cool the motor... The circulation of the coolant in the water jacket around motor does, so you'll probably need that running too. Maybe a dual batter set up is in your future..?

Thanks stoviAZ,

No, not adding batteries. Was just wondering if they should turn off. Apparently they should.

Thank you.

Not to misinform.. But some fans do run after shut down, 2 mins +/-.

I'm sure there is a way to either tune this into the car, or maybe you just hard wire a timed switch to the fans.

Good luck!
