Now I'm wondering if my window issue is related. After all, it's probably something in that handle mechanism that triggers the smart windows.
TSBs aren't just to get things fixed for free. They also tell dealers how to fix the tough issues. But it is unacceptable to say your going to wait for someone else to figure it out. I'd be on the phone with Chrysler. If it isn't functioning properly it is a warranty issue plain and simple, no TSB required for that.
I believe I agreed with you on that.True, but I still feel their response should be to replace the obviously defective or non-functioning unit under warranty regardless of there being an existing TSB or not. Parts fail without TSBs all the time and are repaired/replaced under basic warranty. Why should this be any different?

That was my first symptom.Passenger side door locks whenever I open it

Yep. Mine did it yesterday. I locked it and before I could walk away, it unlocked.Took my 2011 SRT 8 to the dealer to show them my passenger side handle will not open upon a walk up to it . The Fob will open it . They said they have had some Charger handles with the problem . But did not know or have any Challengers . But mine is one of two SRT 8 they have sold that I know of . Does the R/T have this problem also . Guess it does .
Thanks. I guess when these fail, I'll just wait. There is a redesign in the works, a message was sent out to dealers not to replace the handles anymore. I will see if I can get a copy of it and post it.
I'm not holding out any hope that it'll work, but just thought I'd pass it on.The first time the RRT 08-24 was release was in april of 2011, But there was a problem with the software and chrysler stopped the flash update. As of june 15,2011 the software update as been re-release under RRT 11-047.
Correct. It was a replacement for RRT 08-24 which we already established as having nothing to do with the door handles. But, it is related to the FOB, so weird things do happen sometimes.RRT 11-047 has nothing to do with the door handle issue.
They tried that with me. "it's functioning as designed". I got a little stern with them and they conceded. The day I went back in to have them installed, neither would work.Dealer just called.
They found no issue with the drivers door (yeah it dried out) but ordered a new passenger door handle and some module. We will see.
Your car is quite the rebel today. It's raining out today and guess what, both handles are now working.
The dealer replaced the latch (not handle) on mine to fix this. I had the put my car in their car wash to reproduce the issue. There a thread about it.I had my driver side handle replaced after owning the car for 2 weeks.
Now the passenger side window drops down a inch and goes back up over and over and over and over again. It does it when Im driving it and when its parked. It seems to acted up when it gets wet. Hmmm. Back to the dealership again.
