Last night, my driver side headlamp started with a pinkish orange glow. The vehicle has HID lights. Is this just the bulb or something more involved. It glows white for 10 seconds or so then changes to the orangish color. There is no visual physical damage.

It is a 2011 RT A5 with 132,000 miles. Never had any issues with headlamps.

Is this easily fixable? What is access to the bulb. Since it glows white for a few seocnds, is the ballast (where-ever that is located) all right? If it something that can be easily replaced, i would just as soon replace it myself. I would prefer to avoid the dealer

the bulbs are wearing out - with the miles accumulated, you're probably best off to replace both sides

yours takes the D1S style bulb - the ballast is integral with the bulb.

I'd stick with the major brands GE / Philips / Hella - they're a lot less costly than the Mopar brands or what you get at the dealer.

He has HIDs ;)

RTClassicBob you can also switch bright side bulb to the dim side and see if problem goes away to determine if it's just a bulb
