Hey Guys, been searching up and down and can't find the info I'm looking...

I have a 2015 RT-Plus STP and it came with standard headlights (non DRL/non HID). Got into a front collision and both lights became talcum powder. That said, I have to buy a set and being that prices are comparable...I am not going back to the same headlight style. I'm buying NEW FACTORY/OEM/MOPAR DRL/HID lights -- YES -- the ones with the orange LED around the ram intake hole.

I'm assuming this is not plug-and-play is it? Any info on how to make this work will be much appreciated.

Also, not trying to be an ******* here, but I don't want alternative options...or to get into another halogen vs HID vs LED debate, or for someone to tell me to stay with the original lights and buy an HID kit, etc. I know someone out there has bought a newer model light and tried to put it in their 2015/16. Thanks in advance.

praiseV8 > Thanks, lol but that's one of the things I asked NOT to suggest.

Here is my situation:

1) My car came with halogen lights...
2) Car accident...
3) I have no headlights now...
4) I'm buying newer headlights OEM MOPAR with HID/DRL

Who has done this. Is it plug and play?

My bad, it didn't click you wanted the OEM option.

You will need both factory HID light assemblies, a 9012 to D3S Hid kit, I am not sure about wiring the drl.
Good factory housings not missing tabs are over $450 each used

His are shot anyways, I think he just wanted to know if he needed anything extra, to which the answer seems to be yes.

daytime running lights is just a settings change in your Uconnect, it's not something specific to the HID optional units, unless something was different in 2015 as opposed to other years.

Let me preface by reiterating that my car was involved in a front-end collision/accident. I lost my hood, the entire bumper, rad support, radiator, condenser, crash bar, BOTH headlights, etc. The entire front of the car disappeared. Fast forward to today, the car has now been repaired and I am at the point where I need to buy a set of headlights.

That said, I'm going to buy ORIGINAL MOPAR CHALLENGER HID headlights 2015+. I DO NOT want to buy the same halogen headlights as they are pretty much the same price. It doesn't make sense to me. Anyway...

-----

F8Dragon > Why would I have to get a 9012 HID kit? The newer HID Mopar headlights already come with HID Ballast, bulbs, etc.

If you get fully assembled hid housings with all the parts then you should also need the full factory HID headlight harness and then have things reflashed so that the car knows what it has for lights and sends all the proper signals and voltage.
Any dealer should be able to get the correct harness, even Rockauto has them listed.

The reason I mentioned the hid kit was that it should eliminate some of the above wiring and programing.

I thought 2015 came with DRL, did you have white halos? Thats why the replacement cost seem high to him. The 2015 has white halos, DRLs and holes through the center halo. Get OEM 2015 with the BULB conversion you are looking for...
