Please let me know if this is not the correct place to post issues/questions. I have a 2015 Challenger R/T which we bought used about a year ago. I was a little while after we bought it that I started to experience this issue and it happens pretty randomly. From a stand still, I will accelerate and it seems to stick in gear and rev super high, then if I let off the gas, it gets all crazy and starts jerking. The best way to describe it is; when someone is first learning how to drive a stick and they are not applying the gas and clutch correctly, or it would be similar to riding a bull in the rodeo because it seriously bucks up. I've taken it in, and they can duplicate it, so I'm just left dealing with it. Even my husband thought I was crazy until it happened to him (I'm the primary driver).

Also, the car has completely turned off 2 times just out of the blue at stop lights.

One more thing...my car has locked itself before with the key fob in it...the car was running, I got out and was walking to the other side to get something for my son that had fallen on the floor; between the time I shut my door and got to his door, the car locked with the fob in it and all. I was so afraid I was going to have to call someone to break into my car. Even though both locks were down, the passenger side opened (thank God). What if the car was off and I go to get my kid out and it locks with him in it? In the Arizona summer? Now I am afraid to ever close my door until everything is out of the car.
Thanks in advance!!!

I've never experienced the key fob thing I thought it should honk if you try to lock it with the fob inside, and unlock. Someone else can chime in with more experience.

I have experienced the same thing with my 2015 SRT 392 Challenger on the transmission. How many miles are on it? My transmission ended up being replaced. I'd check with the dealership to see if any TCM updates are available. FCA has released several updates to the transmission controller since 2015. That may fix your issue.

Thanks for the info! My car has about 23k now, and it's been happening since about 17k. It's been in the dealership 3 times for the issue.

That sucks. You gotta press on them to get it figured out, especially since our drivetrain warranty is expiring soon-ish. Do you know the manufacture date on the car? I know that there was a valve body update released in July of 2014. If your car was built before that, a valve body may be in order. If it's newer than that, you may need to get DodgeCares on this site involved, and see if they can get the FCA engineers involved.

Luckily we did purchase the extended warranty (we usually don't) so at least it buys us some time. I'm not sure on the manufacture date though. Only info I see is a delivery date of 9/6/15.

I also filed a complaint with NHTSA about the issues. It really comes down to a safety concern. It's never good to have your car give out on you in the middle of an intersection or slow your forward progress so much that you're a sitting duck.

If you have a good relationship with the service department, they can look it up on their multi VIN report. It may also show on a sticker inside the driver's side door. I can't remember if it's there on the Challengers or not.

Ok I'll ask them. They just installed a "pod" today. It's a device that will record the activity as it's happening. I just push the button while it happens and they will be able to see what the car is doing. Hopefully it works and happens while I have this.
