Here is my view of the SRT vs SP for the additional cost if SP equipped the same you would still not get these in the SP and difference in cost is about $3500. Of course you have to like the hood as much or better than the SP, which I do.

I also built a 2014 SRT online and it came out about $3000 more than the 2015 and the 2015 has more equipment. Fewer SRTs built and resell in the past has been much better than the other models.

SRT advantages

better and adjustable suspension (adaptive damping configurable drive mode (4 different modes)
Much better 6 piston Breaks and larger disk, plus powder coated red.
Slightly larger tires (9.5" width Allow wheels instead of 9")
Much better sound system 900 watt with 18 speakers with subs in the truck
Flat bottom performance steering wheel with power adjust (helps getting in and out when your older like me)
Body colored spoiler
Nicer stock light weight alloy wheels
Better and more Performance Pages gauges
SRT track experience (free with SRT purchase but cost $700 without purchase)
SRT resale value
And in my opinion the best looking hood scoop (no flaming please I did say in my opinion)

Did I leave anything out??

Fade away mirrors are multifunctional (not sure what the difference is from SP)

What about the seats?

I think the top two alone would probably close the 3500.00 gap completely. When comparing an equally optioned SP to the SRT, I think the SRT is a better buy with the exception of the lack of wheel choices. That's not factoring in the additional options that are available on the SRT that are not offered on the SP.

While the SP is an awesome ride, I personally view it as the replacement for the SRT Core with more flexibility on option packages which can save $. For those who want the base car with little to no options at a great price, the SP is the way to go, but if purchasers want moderate to fully optioned SP's, they might wanna really consider the SRT preminum.

Just my take on it.

I was building the SP with almost all options to try it get it as close to the SRT. I did not add the SP style option or whatever its called that adds strips and black gas cap ect. and the SRT was $3500 more. I was just trying show what you get for that $3500.

But I agree with what you are saying!

My dealer I have used in the past has told me I can order a 2015 SRT for 1% below invoice. My build invoice was 47,500 (added everything except the leather upgrade and tri-coat paint and no strip). Now they have a $399 doc fee so I'm actually looking at $100 below invoice.

I keep seeing photos of some SRTs with the WP3 wheels which I like much better, maybe that is a choice for the SRT. It says it's option for SP but don't know why they are showing up on SRTs if they don't make them for it. Anyone having any info???? I really don't care for any of the SRTs wheels they are all the same actually just different colors.
I like those too. Originally the current wheels and the big brakes were a packaged option for the srt. Then they made it standard. I wonder if the reason the wp3 is not an option, has anything to do w/ it being a 9" wheel??

I'm with you on that Bones!!

I can handle the wp3 wheels much better. I think I have decided not let the wheels stop me on the SRT but will have to do something down the road about them. The rest of the car is just too nice and set up the way I like it.

The sound system on the SRT looks like it has 2 subs in the trunk?? I know there are lot more speakers anyone seen this??

I still like the SP and shaker hood but scoop on the SRT is pretty smooth. People might even think your are a Hell Cat and run for the hills Whahahha.
Although I like the wheel(s) offering on the HC, I am surprised at the lack of choices and in reality, there is only one choice since it appears the Brass Monkey wheel is not even available yet..

Yep-Good catch Bones

I added it, anything else?? I know they won't do it but bet you can put a 9.5" tire on a 9" wheel probably not a very safe thing to do though. Maybe something will show up soon that there is another wheel available for the SRTs.

That's the only thing I don't really care for in the SRTs, love everything else!

At the April N.Y. Auto Show introduction of the 2015 Challenger and Charger, I seem to recall Chrysler announcing a new service entitled the Mopar Custom Shop would offer a host of over 100 items to customize the 2015 Challenger and Charger during vehicle ordering, that these items would be installed at the factory and listed on the Monroney sheet. One wonders if this catalog includes optional wheels and when it will be available. One would think Chrysler would be interested in an early launch for this catalog to maximize the possibilities of additional point-of-sale income, but time will tell. I am biding my time to order my 2015 Challenger SRT until that catalog appears.

If that's the case. 3500 dollars is not the true difference, at least between yours and a completely optioned out scat pack at affiliate pricing. I got everything except for the appearance group on my sp and it's 40800 out the door.

I may have missed it but does the sport and track programming for the 8 sp auto change the throttle mapping (i.e. tip-in) as well as the shift speeds?

Thanks.

I like WP3's and with 245/255 F1's thought they would have looked great but if they won't clear the 6-pistons then you are stuck with the other wheels unless Dodge changes their mind back to the way It was before, the 4-piston Brembos plenty good enough for street and should be standard equipment.

capecodcaper-- What was the list price or invoice?? Don't know how much of a discount the affiliates get?? My MSRP was $50,275.

Placed my order today- He said they did not have any optional wheels listed or available to choose from. Went with stock leather with suede inserts. They upped their estimate on my 2014 trade to what I had to have to close the deal. Taking it to them to drop off in the next couple of days for I have another car to drive and don't want to take any chances.

White SRT
8sp Auto
Moonroof
Nav
Technology group
No stripes

Think he said they will have an order pull at the end of the week and mine would take off then.

I just priced out a 15 SP with all options except sunroof and appearance group and the total came up to 46K MSRP & 43K invoice on cars.com.

If you dont mind me asking, what was the price before the affiliate discount because that's what most will pay if they dont have it or a similar discount.

2015 Dodge Challenger

Scat Pack Rear-wheel Drive Coupe

Warranty | Standard Equip. | Specifications

MSRP1 Invoice2
Base Price $37,495 $35,726
Destination $995 $995
Gas Tax — —
Colors|Edit — —
OptionsEdit $7,670 $6,829
Total $46,160 $43,550

With the price of a fully loaded SP at or near 46K, all things equal, I think the SRT is possibly the better buy because the same options that increased the SP price are standard on the SRT. Not including the SRT specific standard upgrades.

Cars.com build on a fully loaded SRT without sunroof & Laguna Sega seats.

Total $49,080 $46,437
