Hi guys,

I am a newby to this forum and a happy new owner of a 392 challenger driving on the beautiful island of Curacao in the Caribbean.
I had to change the battery and since then the passenger window has lost a part of the smart glass and lost the auto down function. It only lowers the window step by step.
When I open the door the window drops. (it lowers more than the drivers windows which is running fine.) When I close the door the windows is not moving at all. I have to close the window manually.

I have tried almost all combinations I was able to find in this forum and was not able yet to solve this issue. Can someone helps me out. Maybe by pointing me to the correct procedure to correct this. I appreciate your help very mucht. Thanks

Try this it is the door module memory relearn procedure from the FSM.
  1. Using the window switch, lower the door glass to the full-down position by pushing down (depress) the window switch to its second detent and hold the switch until the door glass is fully open. Continue to hold the window switch down for two seconds after the door glass is fully open.
  2. Raise the door glass to the full-up position by pulling up on the window switch and hold the switch until the door glass is fully closed. Continue to hold the window switch up for two seconds after the door glass is full closed.

Thanks for your respond. I have tried this procedure more than once without success.

When I use the switch in its second detent the window only goes down a couple of inches. I have to release and push again for several times to lower the window to its full open. Maybe this info helps for another suggestion...

Did you try the process with the car running and doors closed? If this still does not work you might have LIN BUS issue (could be a bad module) which can only be diagnosed with a dealer scan tool.

BTW how did you lose a piece of the glass? You might have damaged the window track/regulator which is possibly why the auto down no longer works.

Hi Thanks for you reply. I have tried the procedure, but no luck. Still have this issue of right window does not go down and up automatic / or has to use about 8 clicks to completely lower or close the window and smartglass is not working. Any other suggestions before I have to drive it to the dealer ?

Throwing darts here. Whenever I have encountered electrical gremlins, I will disconnect the battery for a minute and then retry. I realize you’re fault showed itself after the battery was disconnected initially, but I think it is worth a try. Start this with the windows down. If not corrected, retry the reset procedure mentioned earlier. Like I mentioned, it’s throwing darts, but it shouldn’t make anything worse. Good luck.
