I have 6,4 headers off a 2018 scat, i did a post before and am confused on the different sizes of the exhaust system on my 2019 Challenger RT. the headers are 3inch and i know that i need 3inch midpipes with a reducer to the cat back but some have said that the cat back starts at 2.5inch and increases to 2.75inch on my car when it get near the active exhaust valve. So what are the things i should get/know to be ready to start the swap. Also if you guys can link the parts that you suggest that would be much appreciated.

the oem midpipes that attached to oem shorties are 2.75" and your catback is 2.5 so you need a 2.75-2.5 reducer.
another thing is that it will not bolt right up since the 392 shorty/midpipes are a bit longer so you will need to cut your catback a bit or your midpipe

I thought since 2017 the RT came with the same 2.75'' active exhaust setup from the scat pack, Yes they dont have the same headers and mid pipes but the rest is the same size no?

DId you do the SRT headers swap yet?

No I haven’t been able to find anyone that can do the swap and I don’t trust myself to do it and I seen someone tell me to swap the dip stick too and can’t imagine why
Watch the last part of this video to get your answer on the dipstick issue...

When I spoke to AWE regarding their 3" catback exhaust for my 5.7 which had long tube headers and 3" collector/mid-pipes they advised me to go with a 6.2/6.4 system. Why, because the x-pipe connection point on the 6.2/6.4 is 2.75" and on 5.7 (AWE designed the 5.7 system off a 2019 RT) it is 2.5". If the 2017+ 5.7 junction at the x-pipe was the same as a 6.2/6.4 then AWE would only have one system that fits 5.7/6.2/.64...but that is not the case, hence why they have a system for the 5.7 and a different one for 6.2/6.4. Both systems are identical except for the connection point at the x-pipe (although AWE uses an H-pipe).

So your saying on the 2017+ 5.7L they only added the actuator Valve system on a 2.5" exhaust?

....and the exhaust hangers are different, mid/resos are different and the pipe diameter after the mid to x-pipe interconnect went from 2.5" to 2.75".

Oh and I think the exhaust tips (ball socket size) for +2017 RTs are different from pre-2017.

So one with a 2017+ 5.7 wanting to upgrade with SRT manifold would also need the 392 catted mid pipes and X-pipe.

If the 2017 5.7 uses the log choking ex manifold, I’m sure the midpipe is is not the as as the 392

Definitely maybe.

Have you measured your mid-pipe diameter near the X-pipe connection? If it is 2.5" then you will have your answer.
i was referring to 5.7 RT not 6.4. al

Yup I understood that and was supporting your earlier statement.

+2017 5.7
Mid pipe diameter = 2.5"
Mid pipe to x-pipe connection = 2.5"
x-pipe and back = 2.75" (pre-2017 is 2.5", no AES and exhaust hangers are different...although some 2015 RTs with M6 had an H-pipe)

6.2/6.4
Mid pipe diameter = 2.75"
Mid pipe to x-pipe connection = 2.75"
x-pipe and back = 2.75"
