Im changing my rims out from 20's in the rear to 22's in rear ... now overall height is only about an inch higher than the origanal rears ... question is .. do i have to change the rim size thru my Diablo still .. to avoid limp mode

No sure about going into limp mode but the speedo will be off. It's real easy to adjust, just go for it.
