During the 60 mile checkup on my 2016 SXT Plus, my mechanic reported a minor oil leak from the manifold and advised in the near future I'd need to have the gasket replaced (I have 65k miles on her).

Anyone else have a similar problem? Just trying to see if this is common.

Didn't the early model 3.6L engines have a problem with the oil cooler, something about it leaking? Could this be the leaking component, I wonder...

You might take the car to the local dealership service department have them check it for any recalls and TSBs that need to be performed. If this leak is due to a known problem that has a TSB out for it, you'll be able to get them to fix it for free.

The babcack,
I'm assuming intake manifold because the exhaust manifold wouldn't have oil? Forgive me, but the last time I dealt with a manifold was 1980 in auto shop class - things have changed much, and my memory has degraded.

Nuke,
Good suggestion - I'll check into that.

That’s what I was thinking as well, but just wanted to be sure. Did they retighten to the proper tq specs? The intake manifold is plastic and can loosen up in time. Mine had a small spot of oil around the base after 15000mi but after retightening, it hasn’t come back(25000mi now).

It was a mechanic shop, not a Chrysler dealership. They assumed it was a leaky gasket, but as Nuke suggested, may be an something covered by a TSB - definitely bringing it to my dealership to handle.

Sorry about the late update.

I brought it to the Dodge dealership in St. Augustine. They checked all over and ensured me the manifold was fine and there was absolutely no sign of any oil leak. Glad I got a second opinion, and thanks Atlantic Chrysler Dodge!
