426 Engine Build

Well just got off the phone with Don at Arrington, I ordered my 426 along
with a new trannie. Will put my maggie on top which I have now. Currently
doing 544 rwhp with AJ's work, now want that 700rwhp zone. It will still
be a daily driver that I can take trips in. :bigthumb:

I've decided, my R/T with what I've done so far is just too slow and too slow to respond and lacking in real power. It's a sweet running engine but I now want MORE! Supercharging the 5.7 isn't going to make me happy, going big block would however. Would I be ahead just trading up to a 6.4l 2011-12 Challenger or should I be saving up and just yank the factory motor for an Arrington 426 or 440 built engine and have them install it? And what kind of mileage/reliability could I expect from one of these? Thanks!

Engine Build

To have your engine forged, or going with a 426 or 440 will make
more power than the stock 6.4, after trading cars then you would be
right back to deciding about engine work, I think you would be happy
and save money doing the engine build, the 426 is the same
price, usually the 426 is $1100 more than the 6.1 forge build, getting it
for the same price is good. Then later if you want to supercharge
the 426 it will handle any of the blowers.

What trans do you have, I have the auto so I had to do the trans
build as well, manual I dont know. Any of those forged engines will
hold up. I have the 2008 and trading never crossed my mine.

Do these run forged or cast pistons?

Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking as far as trading up goes. Rather just go custom rather than the latest greatest factory power and go with bigger and badder still. I have the auto trans and would probably like to keep it if I can since I would only be shooting for somewhere's north of 500 RWHP reliably and no SC.

I love my R/T, and don't want to trade up for the 392, since I'll still want engine work after trading...

If I put a blower on my 5.7, could that blower later be re-purposed on a 426?

The March Madness sale includes our famous 392 and popular 426 Arrington Engines along with specials on our Magnuson Supercharger kits as well... These are the same engines as the full price engine with the exact same parts. This is only a temporary reduction of retail pricing known as the March Madness Sale found at http://www.shophemi.com.

Please call us @ 866.844.1245 with any questions that you may have!

This will depend on the blower you decide to go with. But yes they can be fit onto the 426.

OK, ya sold me!

Gonna call Don this fall and schedule my R/T to go in for the Maggie, and then start saving up for a 426 upgrade (and keep the Maggie...)

I'd do it sooner, but I have to rebuild another motor for my daily driver, swap out the tranny, and my race car needs a whole new fuel system (converting to fuel injection)

First things first!

Whats the core charge for the block? Any specs on the internal parts?
Yes the core charge has been lowered to $800 for this sale. Depending on the engine, whether is be a 392, 426, 440 - here is a sample of of our line - 6.1 HEMI To 426 Stroker - shopHEMI.com
Your more than welcome to add internal parts as well.

Please call us for details.
