I am trying to figure out the widest rear tire that I can put on my Scat Pack. The stock tires are 9.65 inches wide vs. the 315 being a whopping 12.4 inches wide. Has anyone attempted to put a 315/35/20 tire on the rear wheels? I found this cool tire size comparison website it anyone else wants to compare different tire sizes.

Some have put 315/35/20 Nittos on the back of 9" wheels before but they bulge a little and wouldn't be recommended. They should clear without any rubbing in that format if I remember right. If you go with a 10" wheel, then you'll have to watch the offset... something closer to stock 25-20mm offset may rub the fender lining. But something with an 18mm offset may clear the rubbing part, but they may stick out too much. There's a thread in the wheel/suspension subforum here that's called "widest I can go on the rear"

Check that one out and you'll get better ideas.

I would not recommend a 315 on a 9" wheel. A 275 is the widest recommended for a 9" wheel. I had 275's on a 10.5" Forgestar wheel and it looked really good. I believe it was a 25mm offset and they tucked nicely. I would have been okay with a 295 as well, although they may have stuck out just a hair.

You certainly don't want the "Off Road" look with your Challenger and you also don't want to compromise the tire with to narrow of a rim.
