For you guys who complain about the high costs of tires and their longevity, read this.

A set of four Michelin tires will only last 6,000 miles on a Bugatti Chiron. At its maximum speed of 253 mph, they will only last 15 minutes. So how much will a replacement set cost? Only $42,000! (I guess you can't buy them at Tire Rack).

And, by the way, the rims have to be replaced after only two sets of tires to guarantee the integrity of the bead seals. These will only set you back $69,000 a set. Of course, if you can afford $2,998,000 (base) to buy the ultimate supercar, these minor expenses are chump change. :grin2:

Like those on the Veyron, the Chiron’s tires have been co-developed with Michelin. They’ve got to withstand 3,688 lb-ft of torque per wheel, and every gram of rubber is exposed to centrifugal force of 3,800 times the force of gravity.
Sounds like they are worth it ;) BTW, apparently there is no place on Earth you can go 253 mph for 15 minutes, so they are safe ;) I love reading this cool stuff Cuda340, keep em coming!

A driver for Automobile magazine took a Bugatti Chiron up to 234 mph at the Circuit de la Sarthe, home of the 24 hrs. of Le Mans.
