Hi
I have a 2012 challenger rt 6 speed with a Barton short shift
I upgraded to a weight shift knob weighting 735g
It sat very slow so I used a lock nut to increase the weight of the knob
Now whenever I drive and I hit a hard bump
It would pop out of gear.
I was wondering if this has happened to anyone before.
i car has 190k km on it, had it since new and transmission fluid was changed twice with redline synthetic atf-4 at 130k km
Would this be a sign of a bigger issue or should I just lower the shift knob back to its original position

thank you

Lower the shift knob back to its original position. If the behavior persists that's a sign of a bigger issue.

Problem fixed. I switched back to the normal shift knob.
For those thinking about buying a weighted shift knob
It makes the shifting feel very smooth and takes the notchy feeling away but because of how high the Barton sits, over bumps causes excessive movement of the shifter and can cause it to pop out of gear, mainly 3-4 which have the most side to side play with the Barton
