I installed my Arrington supercharger kit with the Magnuson supercharger with Cervinis shaker kit and I am impressed with the power but I live in Colorado and I am having major issues with coming down out of altitude. Going up it operates just fine if I drop as little as 1000 feet the car looses power and wont turn over 3000 rpm major loss of power, stumbles and back fires. I have discovered that shutting it off and restarting it wont cure it, removing the battery terminals + &- and re attaching wont cure it I must disconnect the battery for 45 minutes then it works great until I drop again in altitude. This occurs every time and it doesn't matter what altitude I start from. Arrington has been supportive and says they are working on it but I am losing faith. Has anyone experienced this? Arrington stated I am not the only one in Colorado with this issue.

I have not changed anything with the car except the Magnuson, fuel pump, engine control module and the crank sensor. These were all part of the kit. The rest of the car is stock. Its not setting the check engine light but next time ill have my code checker with me and check it anyway. All the connectors seem tight but ill reseat them tonight. I cant rev the engine in this mode as it wont rev past 3K with out losing power and 4k is out of the question. It only occurs dropping in altitude not going up. Brighton to Sterling it acted up Sterling to Denver it was OK. This is only 1300 feet.

I can duplicate this that's why it frustrating. Runs great when this is not happening. The only common denominator has been dropping in altitude. Thoughts?

I can reset the computer by disconnecting the battery for 45 minutes and it runs "normal" at any altitude. Then when i drop it does it again. Even as little as 1300 feet. In Colorado this happens quite often. So you are on to something with the adaptive not functioning. All the sensors and harness are stock except the crank sensor. If Arrington's tuner gets back with me ill bring this up. My return calls are not coming as often as i would like.

Luke,

Is the best place to get one of these at the Dealer?

Arrington requested my original stock PCM back for a reprogram and said that they have learned a lot since I got the new 2012 one from Arrington. I will install the original reprogramed PCM with the original crank sensor as soon as I get it back and see what happens.

Might be fixed

I sent the original 2013 PCM in for a new program. I installed the 2013 crank position sensor with the 2013 PCM Sunday. I warmed it up and then took her out for a spin. Holy cow this is a totally new car. The 2012 PCM with the supercharger definitely made it faster than stock. This 2013 PCM tune tune is EXPLOSIVE. Much more power and a definite sound from supercharger. Unfortunately weather came in so I couldn't test the altitude problem. Arrington assured me that they have learned a lot since I purchased the kit. The Crazy 8 is loaded in the enclosed trailer behind the motorhome for a 11 day trip to South Dakota's Cool Deadwood Nites. I will test the altitude issue there. Thanks everyone with there help and suggestions!
