EDIT:

This thread was made before the Shaker was announced as "late availability.."
Obviously, all of us who have ordered, do not have the option of ordering the Shaker package.

To be honest, I may be the only guy on the planet who does not like the way the shakers look . Have never been a huge fan of them on either modern or classics . I like the "cleaner" looking hood.
So I couldn't justify on spending the extra money on something I'm not that into, for bragging rights .

Got ya...

Now I'm seeing the Scat Pack logo for the seats is a "late availability"...
You'll have to let us know if you get it or not..

Shakers are functional. I also am not waiting for the shaker. I'll be ordering my B5 SP in October and later on if I feel I need or want a shaker I will go buy an AFR shaker for it. I like the new rallye hood!!!

Care to share your reasons why?
I'm not sure I feel like waiting till January...

No need for flame suit, just want to hear the reasoning behind your decision..
Might help me make up my mind as well..
Thanks!

I am.

As iconic as the Shaker hood is, to me it doesn't have the masculine elegance of the Power Bulge hood, and I prefer the cleaner line view from the driver's seat.

1. Price. I'm over budget at 41k plus tax and tags. That's for a SC auto, sound II, leather, hood stripe, and Nav. Really thinking about nixing leather, stripe, and Nav to drop it to 38.5 lol I love the shaker but that's going to add 2-3 grand and blow me out of the water pricewise.

2, I want a low key look (sleeper) of the SC. Looks like a standard RT. I worry enought leaving it in the driveway or parking lot. Big hood scoop is an attention getter.

3. Bracket racing I feel the shaker (cold air intake) will tend to pickup more than the closed hood. I'm talking .02-.03 but that is huge to us. Nightfall, MG and RP have that "cold" cross track breeze at mid track (RP where the bleachers end). Same issue at AR and NU. Great for PB but bad for dial-ins.

4. I feel the MSRP is going to go up several times this year. Just my guess.

When I'm ready for mine ( about 3-6 mos.) I'll have a big decision to make.
I like the updated look of the power bulge hood, looks more aggressive than before & some what of a sleeper vibe.

The Shaker on the other hand looks great, not crazy about the striping that goes along with it though.

For NOW, if I were to get one tomorrow I'd get it w/o it........but things could change.

My 2015 is inbound...

I ordered an R/T. Exactly like this...6 speed manual and all available options.

I am waiting until Jan-Feb to order, but probably not ordering a Shaker.

My reasons for waiting are
I don't want to get a brand new car heading into winter
Finances will be better in the spring
Hoping other color options might be made available

I like the shaker but would be perfectly happy with the lower cost power bulge

IMO, the shaker is a waste of good money that could be used elsewhere. I certainly do not prefer the looks of it at all and you get 0 gains from it. Power bulge hood is way better looking IMO. I'll be ordering the plain scat pack. pitch black with 8 speed auto and WRT wheels.

I own a 2014 Shaker and aesthetics are subjective. I like it. Others don't. The only real negative I can see is that it limits your choices for forced induction.

Srt8 vs R/T scatpack what's the deference between those two?

SRT 392
- SRT functional hood
- 6-piston Brembos
- 15.4 x 1.34 (390 x 34.0) two-piece aluminum hat, vented and slotted rotors (R/T has 14.2 x 1.26 (360 x 32.0) vented and slotted)
- adaptive suspension
- 275/40/20 Pirelli Neros with optional PZeros
- 20x9.5 rim
- 18 Harmon Speaker system
- 14.4:1 steering ratio (R/T has 12.3:1 ratio)
- 0.356 drag coeff (R/T has 0.337)
- blind spot and cross path detection standard (R/T requires tech package)
- SRT apps (R/T has Dodge performance pages)
- heated/vented seats standard
- heated steering wheel standard
- leather trimmed seats standard
- power multi-function fold away mirrors (R/T has power fold-away mirrors)
- power tilt/telescoping steering column
- body color spoiler
- SRT Track Experience
- universal garage door opener standard
- 4251lb curb weight (R/T has 4,082 lbs) 169lb difference

Essentially, the adaptive suspension improves cornering capability, the brembos give you less brake fade, the tires improve your grip and it comes mostly standard with all the added technology features that are upgrade packages on the R/T.

I would say, if you track the car and/or like the idea of having the adaptive suspension (it is a nice feature for both track and daily driving), it is worth it. The 6-piston brembos are a bonus. The 18 speaker system is good if you match it with HiDef music.

The 169lb added weight is a downer if you are 1/4mi racing the car. Essentially cutting yourself about 0.1 - 0.15 secs off your 1/4mi. Even so, with the 8-speed on the 2015s, you are easily looking at a low to mid 12 second car.
This is all credit to Ray for posting this in the 2015 thread.

I thinks R/T scatpack is the best choice for the money.... I'm looking at the hellcat but I keep going back on the RT, lots of car for the money that's for sure....
It is gonna be hard choice....
