So while driving home yesterday I noticed that nearly every time I downshifted hard or applied the brakes more than very gradually I heard a fairly audible pop/clack sound like dropping a ball bearing on a steel table. It sounds like it's coming from under the center console possibly the stick but I don't feel anything strange when shifting or driving just the noise. Shifting has felt a little different in the cold however. I haven't noticed it anytime but when slowing down. Any Ideas?

go to barton shifters and they have an install video that will show you how to get access to the shifter without breaking anything,,as for you noise issue jack up the back end of the car put it in gear and see if can pin-point it

I think if it comes to that I'll have them look at it under warranty. I haven't really had it out too much in the cold since we've had a really mild winter so far but was wondering if someone has had a similar experience or have heard of something causing that type of problem.

Bennett Elrad,

I couldn’t locate a TSB related to your concern. I would recommend taking the vehicle to a certified FCA Dealership to address these concerns. If you need assistance setting up an appointment, send me a private message with your VIN and contact information. Thank you, Emily – Social Care Specialist.

I believe I will be making an appointment to have it looked at soon. I noticed today upon heavy acceleration sometimes I hear a sound like someone knocking on a door three times quickly that I can also feel through the stick. On the plus side I only heard the original noise during hard braking today.

Toddyc20 I thought I would have it stored as well but today was 62 degrees here in northern ohio and it's going to be warmer tomorrow.

Let me know the results after you take your car in. I'm very eager to learn what's causing it and if Dodge will fix/replace the problem part.

I'd still have mine out too but up here in Canada they started dropping salt about a month ago and that's the main thing I'm trying to avoid with the car.

I wouldn't hold your breath on the answer from my local dealers. They're a bit of a joke, I'm in a very rural area so I may make an appointment with one of the good dealers about 50 minutes away. The locals never work on much but trucks.
