AS I recall CA had a mandate years back on electric cars, the date came and went with no where near meeting mandate. It is easy to bloviate as a political hack with lots of windage demanding the private sector invent on demand and build things no one wants.

Also Ca has an issue with their grid, where are all these BEV going to plug in? also I cant imagine anyone out there with a BEV wanting to drive it, say you take off and have enough juice to get home on a normal day, but get stuck in one of their traffic jams and deplete the battery, that will be a nightmare as all the stupid people risk it and then die on the highway further backing up traffic.

Of course the elite media never calls these stupid people out at these pressers and ask some telling questions. This mandat by 2035 will come and go and they will have to push the date out.

Oh how is Odummys 54 mpg fleet avg doing ;)

I have it on my 19 Ram Rebel, does not use the starter to RE-Start the car. That's why I like it......

The Belt Start Generator is the only S/S system that I have experienced that doesn't have the annoying starter noise or the delay in response of most S/S systems. I still prefer to have the engine running, but the BSG seems to be relatively smooth for a stop/start system. The new system integrated into the eight speed transmission in the Wrangler 4XE may also be a good system, but I have yet to drive one.

Will hover outside of politics, so I don't get in trouble here.

I won't put any weight on that. I lived in CA for a decade, and consider it by 2nd home because of family and friends. CA sucks. I hope everyone leaves so I don't have to pay $1.6M for a house.

My wife and I rented a Dodge R/T van from Hertz in Calgary it had this set up. We drove the van to Banff & lake Louise and even over to a small town in BC. I found the whole system kind of weird and it took us a while to get used to it to the point we trusted the van. Now the van was brand new and it still had that new car smell and for our vactaion it worked flawlessly. However I wonder in 8-10 years from now when there's no newness to speak of, what if it stops and simply doesn't start back up? Could this technology be either diabled or taken out altogether just so you could continue to use your vehicle? I wonder!
