Did you know that our Challenger has a battery saver mode?

When you battery becomes run down (e.g., due to a bad alternator), your car's system will reserve enough power to start the vehicle and will prevent you from running ancillary systems to avoid drawing down the voltage below an acceptable "start" charge.

When this condition occurs, you will see a little image on your information display that looks like an e-mail icon. Pretty neat. :bigthumb:

It is referred to as Load Shedding, the first things to go are the Heated Systems i.e. seat heater, defroster ect.. Safety items will remain on. Headlamps etc..

This is nothing new, my 10 year old GXP daily driver does the same thing, shutting down the ABS, traction control, stability control, etc, to conserve battery power.
