Need some help I know someone has done this. 2010 Challenger R/T with eibach sport suspension 2" drop with srt8 rims that are 9" wire. I would like to put a 285 or 295 x 45 x 20 tire on the rear. Does anyone know if that size tire will work on the rim and will I rub the fender lip? Thank

You know those are light truck tires? The 295/45 is 1.8" taller than the standard SRT tire 245/45....a better size for your rear would be 275/40/20....wide tire that is same diameter as the 245/45...

Ive put on pirellis 295/40/20 on a 9.5" wheel with the sportline on the rear. No rubbing. Do it or go 275/45 nitto. Just keep an eye out for the diameter

I also run the 295/40 for the street (305/35/20 at the track) with 10.5 wheels....The 295/40 work on the OEM 9" wheel with some sidewall bulge but the OP has an RT which I think wont accept as wide a tire as the SRT..not sure though..

The 9.5" wheel with 295 tire WAS on an RT WITH the sportline springs. RT wheel wells have the same space inside as an srt.

You can put 295/30/22's on the rear with the mopar stage 1 lowering springs no problem. That's what I hit at least ! ;)

295 what on a 9.5" wheel???

That's not a useful post. Is it a 20" wheel? Is it a 22" wheel? Is it a 35 series tire? Is it a 40 series tire? 45 series??? What's the wheel offset? Seriously, why bother posting???

A 275/40/20 is the widest tire that will work on a 9" wheel. Some have gone wider but it is not recommended. The tire will be shoe-horned on the wheel and will not perform properly and will wear unevenly.

Look at the center diagram, below.

Also, a 295/40/20 tire requires a 10.5 to 11" wide wheel. A 9.5" wheel will be too narrow. See the link, below, for the tire sizing calculator.
