Got me an srt8 6.1 liter a couple months ago and its time to change oil, but struggling with what to get. Went to walmart, and advance auto, and neither had either weight without going with diesel oil!

Manual says 5w-40 synthetic cap says 0w-40 synthetic...... I know it probably doesnt matter on that, but seems like here in oklahoma there is not a whole lot to choose from on either oil's besides i see the rotella t6, which is for diesel engines, so figured might not be best choice.

What oil are yall running? WHere are you getting it?

Actually, the manual says 0W-40 is preferred, but 5W-40 is also allowed.

I'm the original owner of my 2009 SRT8 and have used nothing but Mobil 1 0W-40.

Living in Oklahoma, you can go with either viscosity.

Same here. In New Jersey, I buy 0W-40 Mobil 1 at Walmart. Pep Boys also sells it.

If you can't find Mobil oil in your area, buy Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40 oil. This is the brand recommended for newer Challengers.
