Best bang for the buck - so cheapest you can get by with? Stay away from $2k quality sets from ARH, Kooks, TTi and Belanger then. Regardless of whatever long tubes you eventually get, real performance gains won't be had until you get a custom tune for it.
Install is a PITA on jackstands and your back but doable. Plan on it taking a full workday. Loosening the engine mounts definitely helps with the additional 3-5" lift it gives you. Protect the O2 sensors and put back in same relative location (e.g. driver rear). If you break an O2 extension Caspers Electronics sells them under $25. Driver's side ain't too bad because the coolant reservoir and air filter areas give you room to maneuver. The passenger side however is a wall and you have the dipstick to contend with too.
Another option builders/mechanics seem to use is pulling the actual heads and installing the headers on the work bench. Oh, the SRT header bolts are cheap and come with a thread locker already applied. And consensus is to only use the OEM Mopar gasket.
Hedman Hedders, to let anyone interested they are a direct fit it's is a great install as long as you, chase your holes , put all of the top bolts in first then slide the headers into place, the middle top bolts are difficult to get to, you will need a stubby ratchet wrench or a 1/4" drive...
Hey guys, so yesterday I decided to pull the trigger on some kooks longtube headers with the catless midpipes. The total cost was just over $1800, and man, I’m excited but am also feeling some buyers remorse. The reason I decided to pull the trigger, is because I’m doing a road trip up to Iowa...
In the effort to continue the quest to go as fast as possible on bolt on's, I purchased the new Edelbrock manifold.
This thread will be dedicated to the results I see and also comments about the design, etc.
I will go with this combo:
Edelbrock Manifold and fuel rails - $989
I'm getting these installed tomorrow (yay!), and didn't want to delete the resonators, as I do not want drone. Can I have another set of dynomax installed as resonators or can someone recommend a good resonator to replace stock?
