I still have some waiting to do before my car is delivered and what better way to pass the time than by starting my SD card full of all of the music I want to blare from my speakers. I have a few questions for those of you that have a 2015. I have about 20 gigs of music that I want to put on a 32 gigabyte sd card. I don't necessarily listen to everything that will be copied over but it will be nice to have those ready to go if I want. I'm trying to figure out how I need to save my music and what is ideal for displaying songs on the 8.4 inch.

My first question is how should I structure the music on the card?
I'm sure just grabbing all of my .mp3's and copying them directly to the
root directory of the sd card is not ideal but I don't know if I should
separate different bands in folders, then separate out albums, or what.

I'm trying to determine the best way to store the music so that it is
easy to navigate my music directly from the screen. My problem is I have
many bands that only have on or two songs, some of which aren't even
under an album but directly ind the band folder. Here is what I think the file system for the music might need to look

This would yield something like this-
..\Back In Black
..\Black Ice
.\Avenged Sevenfold

Aside from album covers and random art that is present in my
directories, most of my music is already organized very closely to this
so I could save a bunch of time copying if this is the way to go.

2nd question - How does the display show the different directories with
bands, albums, or music? Is it a drill down? I looked and haven't been able to figure out if there is some type of structure to it but I'm at a loss. I'm trying to ensure that I only have to spend the four plus hours creating my music drive, once. Doing all of this and finding out it needs to be setup differently would suck and I would likely not do it again.

Never had any type of mp3 player in my car before so I'm completely in
the dark of how this is supposed to work. I always get lost when trying
to create playlists on my android (ooh, can you have playlists in the
car too?) and then Pandora and Spotify really made it complicated for
me. Still trying to figure those out. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Yes its a drill down, alphabetically. So if you want to listen to an albums track listing in order, you would have to have it like

01 Rock/...
...01 Crazy Train
...02 Back in Black
02 New Wave/...
...01 Enjoy the Slience
...02 Head on the Door

so yes it has to be 01, 02, 03 or you end up with 1,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,2,20,21 and so on.

it looks like a regular display. Im working right now but ill try and get a picture of how it looks.

I think you can favorite(star) songs again ill look when i get a chance today.

At one time I had so many different songs that I made folders Artist A through Artist Z and stuck the different artist names in each. Maybe that will help you?
