I just purchased a 2017 R/T and I am wondering if it would be a good idea to replace the stock pads with better pads (like EBC redstuff).

It is a lease and I don't want to invest much money on new rotors or calipers but am thinking I may get a slight improvement in braking and also less dust by replacing the factory pads.

Thoughts?

I have a SXT and would really like more initial bite. They are fine if you really stomp on them, but compared to my Mustang, they don't have that confidence inspiring bite when you need to stop suddenly. Any pads that will help with this?

I agree - which is why I asked the question. I am wondering if anyone on here has replaced the stock pads only and experienced better braking performance.

Absolutely, better pads will give you better braking. The STP package from the factory in the older R/T models stated "performance brakes", they were just an upgraded pad over the stock R/Ts.....
