2008.75 Model Year (confirmed final totals)Just wondering how rare the black top edition is. I was bored as usual and started searching for them to see if I got a decent price on mine. And damed if I can find any very few if at all. I emailed dodge and they couldn't give me a a production number as they are still in production.
How many on this forum have the black top edition? It was hard for me to find an automatic TRANS with leather. Most everyone had the standard TRANS with 6cyl
Who on here has the 2014 blacktop hemi auto leather?
For the 2014 model year, 181 Dodge Challenger RT Blacktop Edition units were manufactured in Header Orange with 5.7 engine, auto transmission and stripe delete. And, "Header Orange" is a one-year-only color so, write this information down and keep it with your vehicle as these cars are pretty unique.
All manual cars with 20" wheels come with that rear end standard. The 5.7s with the 18" wheels and a manual had a 3.73.I have a 2014 6 speed manual RT Plus Blacktop - black exterior/black interior. It's fully loaded with leather seats, navigation, sunroof etc... Has the upgraded back end as well - the 3.92 not the 3.06. There are no stripes on mine - just all pitch black with the 20" black envy rims. When searching for one - I could only find (in a 500 mile search) 9 that were manual transmission. I had to drive to OH to get mine - just got it on a dyno the other day 7-6-17 results were pretty darn impressive.
And weren't the wheels for that version black plastic clad?True. The blacktop look for the SXT was called the Sinister Group, similar to the R/T Blacktop except it uses the base R/T suspension and not the STP, and the fuel door is chrome instead of black, other than that, I think they look the same. Jazz Blue Sinister below.
No, they were solid aluminum painted gloss black. They had the same overall design of the chrome clads which were plastic cladded but the Blacktop and Sinister wheels were solid. And weren't the wheels for that version black plastic clad?

My 2 favorite shades of grey are my Granite and Destroyer Challengers. Welcome to the greyhounds of the Challenger fleet. I am working on getting some custom graphics made to make my Destroyer grey GT stand from the crowd. This is a rough idea of what it will be like but the black will be matt black not glossy.Just bought a blacktop, in maybe the most controversial color to grace a Challenger.
Wasn't a big fan of the stripes or wheels in pics, but they definitely look better in person. Will still evaluate a wheel upgrade at the first tire change.
