2013 R/T Classic
iPhone 6S running 10.3.2 (though I've also had issues with several other earlier iPhone models and iOSs)
UConnect 430N/RHB (pretty sure it's this one and not the 430/RBZ
I apologize in advance if I'm not using the proper lingo for all this stuff. Please dumb down answers. Thanks!
Since I bought my car new four years ago, I've had issues with stable Bluetooth connectivity for calls and streaming. The connection cuts out and calls jump from the handset to the car and back and forth over and over. Sometimes it will be OK for a few days and then it goes bad again.
I've paired and deleted my phones so many times. Usually, doing that helps very briefly and then the problems happen again.
I would occasionally look up my VIN (https://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update) and see if I was eligible for an update and never was until last week. Over the last couple of months I've had far worse connectivity and it was getting to the point that I was dreading getting in my car, so I was very happy to find this update.
I downloaded the update to an empty USB and followed the directions and the car didn't respond as it was supposed to. I called UConnect customer support and they walked me through the install and it didn't go as they expected either. At this time, I *think* I'm on 8.4, but I'm really not sure and I don't know how to use the interface to find out. The interface looks the same as prior to installing the update.
I'm frustrated enough that I'm considering using the USB drive on the dash to plug into for music streaming and phone access. The cable I use for charging I tried to access through the AUX setting and no dice for calls or streaming, though it does charge the phone. Maybe my cable is for charging only and doesn't carry data?
Any help would appreciated with this situation.
TIA!
