Looking to put a set of 20" staggered on my '09 SE. In doing so (as I know many have done this) I also am looking to replace the rotors and pads, but am thinking should I go up in size to the R/T size 13" rotors and calipers. In doing this, would I also need to replace the master cylinder, or would it be able to handle the increase in volume needed to move the pistons. I'm only looking for advice from those experienced in brakes, or if you've gone with bigger rotors already.

I third the notion of brake upgrades for the sxt...

I've got an SXT SS/T which means it's a six with the r/t brakes and suspension. Stops on a dime. Superb handling. Maybe look into a wreck and/or the part numbers for this model.

Your in luck, 'cause i did this upgrade when i had my SE, can't imagine the SXT is much different.What you'll need is at least 18" wheels (17's are too small), RT rotors and a full set of RT Calipers, Caliper brackets (what the caliper slide pins on and what also bolts to the wheel hub, and the Caliper Hoses. you need the RT hoses, can't use the SE ones, caliper ends are 90* off. That's it. Everything else stays in place. I tested the sh*t out of mine, 3 hard panic stops in a row from 50 mph to 0, beat on them after the install, No problems. Antilock works 100%. You can also sometimes find a full set in the for sale section from an RT owner that upgraded. I paid 300 for mine, shipped.
