At the risk of repeating the good information you already found here, you should absolutely go to a different dealer. I ordered a 2023 SP Shaker just a few days ago (1/29/23) with no issue and received my configuration sheet immediately. I agree with another post where they questioned whether that dealer you went to even had allocation. You can check the allocation for any dealer on the Dodge Horsepower Locator website. Once you find one with allocation for the model you want, the rest should be easy. The harder part is selecting a dealer who won't markup MSRP.

Best of luck on your search!!!

Dodge Garage still shows them having 1 RT allocation. Is the manager's story describing Dodge intermittently opening a 1 hour ordering window to place as many as possible in that hour total BS? Sounds like it to me. I plan on going back one more time to see if they still have the one in stock they offered me last week, it has everything I need but much more than I want.

My quest started with finding a Cadillac ATS Coupe, I've had a few of their coupes back when they were 20' long. After discovering I didn't fit in the ATS I switched to pursuing an R/T. It reminds me of the '69 Roadrunner I had in high school and I fit just fine in the new one. I had to delay the manual transmission decision until my recovery from a recent motorcycle crash was complete. A crushed left knee and a snapped tendon in my right wrist cast some doubt about whether I could drive the 6 speed. Fortunately I can, but the delay may have nudged me into the MSRP+ environment.
I'm grateful for the support and guidance all of you are providing. This is one of the best forums I've ever seen.

I find myself questioning now if I should have just gotten the Scat? Price is only about $6000 more than the R/T. Not saying I have buyers remorse and really like the R/T but hope I don't regret later so just something to consider. My wife who really resisted getting rid of the Civic is now driving the Challenger more than me! Funny to me because she didn't like the idea at first and now whenever she drives it is in sport mode and running the RPM's up to over 4000. I didn't even tempt myself by taking a test drive in the Scat because was afraid would have really wanted it. Good luck and at least you have time to figure it out as there appears to be quite a few still available!

Nice! For me it was a 1970 GTO. Bpught it (used) my first year of high school and a miracle didn't kill myself! That is what really led me to the Challenger. I have had several fast Mustangs over the years but not really a big fan of all of the changes to them. Don't care if it is faster. The Challenger is the only one IMO that resembles the earlier cars.
If I want faster I will get Luke's help at Steve White who is the service manager there and has one that is about 1000hp!.

I agree it is definitely the most comfortable between the Mustang and the Camaro. I looked seriously at the Camaro but thought it not near as comfortable and the visibility was terrible. Camaro was definitely a "beast" on power however.

The dealer I ordered from told me they placed orders for stock back in late October. Those 2023's started arriving in late January. I believe they counted toward their total allocation as stated on the Horsepower Locator site, though I haven't verified that.
